About - Stowaway Press -

Our Philosophy

Stowaway Press

Stories You Can Cook. Adventures You Can Keep Stowaway Press is the storytelling heart of The Great Global Table—the little imprint where Captain Craig (“Cap”) and his story mouse Huber turn real‑world adventures into books, letters, and goodies families can hold in their hands. If TGGT is the table and the Defender is the truck, Stowaway Press is the map.

What Is Stowaway Press?

Stowaway Press publishes Cap & Huber’s Global Adventures—a cozy, old‑world style book series where kids and families:

  • Travel the Clipper Trail with Cap & Huber
  • Visit new places through food, maps, and letters
  • Meet Ohana, pets, and hidden villages like Winterton
  • Learn that service, kindness, and curiosity are real‑life superpowers

Every story is built to be read aloud, cooked from, and talked about around the table.

What We Create

1. Cap & Huber Book Series

  • Chapter‑style adventure books for ages 8–12 (and their grown‑ups)
  • “Stories you can cook” with recipes and activities in every volume
  • A long‑arc saga following the Clipper Trail from Boston to Hawaiʻi

2. “Cook the Story” Recipes & Cards

  • Illustrated recipe cards pulled straight from the books
  • Simple, family‑friendly dishes you can make at home
  • Perfect for tucking inside a book or pinning to the fridge

3. Monthly Adventure Mail

  • Old‑fashioned envelopes from Cap & Huber
  • Bonus stories, maps, recipes, and Huber’s mischievous notes
  • A subscription that turns your mailbox into a tiny Stowaway Perch

4. Classroom & Library Editions

  • Bulk book sets for schools and libraries
  • Simple discussion guides and “Cook the Story” extensions
  • Author visits (virtual or in‑person) with Captain Craig

5. Printable Adventures

  • Downloadable maps, passports, and table games
  • “Make Your Own Winterton” and pet‑listening activities
  • Great for rainy days, homeschool, and family nights

Our Clients

Who Stowaway Press Is For

  • Families ( Ohana ) who love reading together and trying new recipes
  • Teachers & librarians ( Kumu kula ) looking for warm, story‑driven ways to teach geography, culture, and social‑emotional skills
  • Kids ( Keiki ) who like maps, animals, food, and the idea that a mouse might be quietly running the show

Why We Do It

Stowaway Press exists so that:

  • Keiki can travel the world from their kitchen table
  • Ohana can build small rituals—a chapter, a recipe, a letter—around connection
  • Stories, food, and service can quietly teach what matters:
kindness, courage, paying attention, and making people feel at home
